Here at Depression Help Self we know from personal experience that it is possible to overcome the debilitating pain of depression. For those who suffer, you know that it is almost impossible to try to explain what depression feels like to someone who does not suffer. In my experience it is unbearable pain, but not like the pain that comes from physical things like surgery or cancer, however it is non the less an unbearable pain that is incredibly debilitating. For all intensive purposes in a server episode you may as well be thought of as someone who is suffering acute pain and unable to function.

For me, as I started to overcome depression it felt like how I imagine it must feel for someone who was in constant back pain and who was going to physio and a chiropractor and one day was able to wake up and get up and walk and no longer have any back pain. It is an amazing feeling, although with time you soon forget what it was like to have back pain, as your new life takes hold.

So the aim of this website is to source information and resources that can help other people to overcome depression and live in pain free peace. The new book below by DR Hercules Kollias is highly recommended as he personally helped me to overcome depression. The book “End Your Depression” is a wealth of information written by a psychologist who overcame his own depression after 20 years of trying.

Kind Regards

Georgie Hope

Depression Self Help

A

Depression comes in a variety of forms. In some cases you can manage it on your own. In other cases you need constant help and support from one person or a team of people. It is very important to be aware of all the options when it comes to treating depression and find what works for you. If you want more information on treatment options that work to end your depression please click to your right.

Overcoming Depression is like going into a fight with yourself to let go of a part of yourself. In most cases it feels like a fight as you don’t want to let go. The pain usually results from resisting the truth, whatever that may be in your life and struggling to let go. But even if you understand this and know where the pain is coming from, that does not mean you can easily just let go. However with the right Doctor, therapist, teacher, support group or reading material it is possible to overcome depression and live a life free from pain and suffering.

People can be there to support you, however no one can truly help you out of the pain. If you are wishing that someone would just come and rescue you then you may be waiting forever. The person that needs to rescue you is yourself. You are the one that can go and seek out the people who can support you on your journey to recovery. You are the one that needs to know that only you can get yourself out of it by surrounding yourself with people who will support you, and knowledge about what works best for you.

Rather then waiting for those that you wish would support you, try helping yourself with books like “End Your Depression” written by a psychologist who suffered from depression himself for 20 years until he discovered how to overcome it. Or reading the book below The 7 Secret Steps To Authentic Success by Dr Hercules Kollias who personally helped me to overcome depression. He specializes in Authenticity and intuition.

For some people fighting depression feels like the hardest fight of your life. It can literally feel like a fight to stay alive. What many people don’t realise is that the feeling you get when you really want to die, is actually a part of your old self that is dying. If you let yourself go through the pain of losing your old false self you eventually come to a place where you are totally who you really are and no longer suffering. This is totally possible and if you are going through a tough time and wondering why you bother staying in this place, just know that it is possible to overcome depression.

We wish you well on your journey to peace and happiness and hope you find these resources useful.
